Introduction
This Storage Policy describes how LensStory (“we”, “us”, “our”) stores and retains the photographs, files, and related data we create or hold in connection with your photography sessions. It works together with our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree to the practices described here.
-
What We Store
We may store:
- Edited deliverables: Final edited images (e.g., high-resolution JPEGs or other formats) that we deliver to you via online gallery, download link, or other agreed method.
- Raw or unedited files: Where applicable, we may temporarily or periodically retain raw or unedited files during and after the editing process. We are not obliged to retain these indefinitely (see retention below).
- Backups: We may keep backup copies of delivered or working files for a limited period for recovery and quality assurance.
- Booking and contact data: Information related to your booking and communications, as described in our Privacy Policy.
-
Retention Periods
Unless we agree otherwise in writing (e.g., for a specific project):
- Delivered images (final gallery): We typically make your final images available for download for a stated period (e.g., 30–90 days from delivery). After that, we may remove them from the online gallery. We may retain copies on our systems for a further limited period (e.g., up to 12 months) for backup or re-delivery requests, but we do not guarantee availability beyond the stated download period.
- Raw or working files: We may delete raw or working files after we have delivered the final edited set and any agreed revisions. We are not obliged to retain or re-deliver raw files unless specifically agreed.
- Backups: Backup copies may be overwritten or deleted in line with our internal retention and storage limits.
Exact periods may vary by package or agreement; we will communicate the download window when we deliver your gallery.
-
Where Data Is Stored
Your images and related data may be stored on our local systems, cloud storage, or servers used by our chosen service providers (e.g., gallery or hosting providers). We choose providers that we believe offer reasonable security and reliability. Data may be processed or stored within or outside India; by using our services you consent to such transfer where necessary for the provision of our services.
-
Your Responsibility to Download and Backup
You are responsible for downloading and backing up your images. We strongly recommend that you download all delivered files within the period we specify and keep your own secure backups (e.g., on your computer and/or external drive or cloud). We are not liable for any loss of your images or data if you fail to download or backup within the availability period, or if our systems or those of our providers fail despite our reasonable efforts.
-
Re-delivery and Retrieval
If you need access to your images again after the stated availability period, contact us as soon as possible. We may be able to re-deliver from our backups if the files are still available, but we do not guarantee this and may charge a reasonable fee for retrieval and re-upload. We are not obliged to retain or re-deliver files beyond the periods set out in this policy or your booking agreement.
-
Deletion and Your Rights
You may ask us to delete your images or personal data earlier than our standard retention, subject to legal or contractual obligations we have to retain certain information. We will respond to such requests in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law. Deletion is typically irreversible; ensure you have your own copies before requesting deletion.
-
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Storage Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. For existing bookings, the policy in effect at the time of booking generally applies unless we agree otherwise. Continued use of our services after changes may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.
